West Leeds SOUP
West Leeds SOUP aims to make a positive difference in our local community by bringing people together to pitch ideas that can improve the area. Whether your project focuses on social justice, community cohesion, animals, the arts, support groups, sport, or something entirely different, the only requirement is that it benefits the people and communities of West Leeds.
For more information, or the opportunity to pitch your project, please email westleedssoup@pudseycommunity.org.uk

Our first event is on:
Friday 17th July, 6.30pm for 7pm
It's really useful for us to have an idea of numbers so please let us know you are coming here.
How it works
Show up
Come to our SOUP event and get soup, bread, other tasty treats and an all-important voting token. You’ll also have an opportunity to donate to the prize pot. Most of our food and drink is made from ingredients which have been donated, sponsored or rescued from being thrown away, so every penny you donate when you arrive goes into the prize pot.
You can donate by cash or card.
Arrive from 6.30pm, mingle and chat.
Listen up
At 7pm, after a short introduction, three projects pitch their ideas and bid for your support. The only rule for projects is that they must benefit the community in the West Leeds area.
Each presenter has a few minutes to share their idea, followed by a few questions from the floor.
Listen to each project pitch, ask a question, see who inspires you with their vision and ideas.
Eat up
After the pitches, you get to enjoy your food (it’s likely to include soup…), chat to others and discuss the projects.
And don’t forget to place your voting token into the box for the project that gets your vote.
Soft drinks are available – please donate separately for these.
Finish up
Just before 9pm, the winning project is announced and the prize pot is allocated according to the votes.
Make sure you come back to the next West Leeds SOUP event for an update from the winner about how they have used the money to benefit your community.
